Yamanaka achieved the number-one-ranked technique in Japan for woodturning and distinctive lacquering. On top of their painstakingly hand-crafted vessels that faithfully preserves the grain, Gomei’s virtuoso technique applies gold leaf twice. Their gold leaf is the world’s thinnest, so the wood grain subtly shows through from beneath.
